Miniverse-Multiverse is a room-sized, walk-through, interactive installation, which houses numerous video-sculptures embedded in an interplanetary concept.
This solo exhibition consists of white weather-balloons of different sizes, that each host video projections (called "Videoplanets", since 2006). Hand-blown glass-bubbles, whose hollow bodies display video internally, are attached to the wall and embedded into the landscape (called "Bubbles" since 2010). A huge dinning table invites the visitors to sit down and enjoy a video dinner. The place-mats at the dining table are in fact video screens that display video dishes and they are connected to live-cameras, which display in real-time the feet of the visitors sitting at the table around the plate instead of silverware. In addition, videos are embedded into the glasses and bottles on the table.
The Videoplanets represent “Imagineactories” that produce Space, Time, Light, Music, Questions, Science, Tears and Silence with the goal of preserving them for the future. This manufacturing process is orchestrated through live choreography featuring groups of dancers who become part of the machine in a synchronized movement. The tiny scale of the performers as seen from above provides an outside view, as though seen through a microscope.
The Bubbles represent a place where the “imagineactory” of each Videoplanet is conceptualized. Inside the Bubbles, the camera zooms close and we see the Master of the “Imagineactory” (in this Miniverse the Master of Time, Space, Light, Music, Questions, Science, Tears and Silence), that sets the blueprint and animated tasks that drive each of the “Imagineactory” specific to each Bubble.
